Alopecia
Alopecia is a common medical condition which can affect both men and women and comes in a variety of different forms.

Alopecia Areata causes patchy hair loss in the form of small bald spots on the scalp. These are unstable and can move from area to area. This is most distressing to the client.

Onset can be in childhood, however it can start at any age and can be triggered by many aspects, Including Hormonal imbalance and or medication.

Alopecia Totalis refers to the loss of all scalp and facial hair. The cause of the condition is still unknown but is also believed to be autoimmune related.

Alopecia Universalis is the most advanced form of alopecia that results in a total loss of hair from all over the body including eyelashes and eyebrows.

Alopecia Barbae causes hair loss from the beard region of your face. A pattern of study shows connections to male autoimmune syndrome.

Traction Alopecia is primarily caused by force being applied to the hair. This is a common result of sufferers frequently wearing their hair in a tight ponytail, pigtails, or braids. Causes also include compressive safety helmets, tight hats, and harsh hair dyes.
